Can you believe it? The Sims 4 is finally available for Macs! Getting the game up and running is simple, but there are just a few things you need to know.
You see, the Mac version of The Sims 4 is currently only available in digital form. That means, if you recently went to the store to buy a physical copy, you won’t be able to use that CD to install the game. Instead, you’ll have to install Origin, and download the game from there.
How to uninstall The Sims 4 on a Mac Uninstalling The Sims 4 on a Mac is really easy because of Origin. Firstly open Origin and click on Games Library. Then navigate to The Sims 4, right click (or hold down CTRL and click) on the game and select Uninstall.
- I did all the steps and now I reinstalling my game. Fingers Crossed it will work, If it doesn't then. Ok so when I click on origin and update it (origin seems to always be updating these days;) I got the 'Blue Screen Of Death' (duh dun dun!!!!) but the second time it is fine. I'll update when I turn on The Sims.
- Final resort is to uninstall and patch manually, ie do not use Launcher or EADM at all - Game Help:TS3 Uninstall. For the QTCore.dll issue This could be due to the 'EACoreServer.exe' file not being launched properly; especially if after double-clicking on the EADM icon, you still do not see the EADM icon on the system tray.
First, open up Safari or your web browser of choice and head to the origin.com/download page. Click on the tiny text that says “Download for Mac” underneath the orange button.
After installing and running the application, sign into Origin using your ID and Password. If you don’t have an Origin account at this point, you’ll have no choice but to create one.
If The Sims 4 doesn’t appear within the “My Games” tab, please do the following:
- Open up the boxed copy of The Sims 4, and find the product code.
- On Origin, click on “Origin” in the top left corner and click on “Redeem Product Code“
- Type in the Product Code to download the game.
If The Sims 4 appears within the “My Games” tab, please do the following:
- Click on The Sims 4.
- Click on the Download button to start the installation.
